As a person who has never attended a design forum, this comes from my unwavering optimism as to what it could be, truly an ideal. Simply, I think it is a space where conversations spark up through some drawings, sometimes rekindled from that one broken process model, and sometimes from all the shared work that comes along with it, at least from what I have heard or read, but what does it bring out in people?

I would like to believe that people change themselves through a design process, every one of them; may it be that a romantic embraces the technicalities or a detail becomes poetry, the process brings out something, best or worst. It is in the collective identity of everyone’s changes that something good, or might I say revolutionary, comes out; that is what I think, in my confidence, is what a forum does.

People do, People talk, people talk about doing; diversity of situations in a design process has the potential to open up conversations that one alone cannot do. So, creating a space(figuratively, enclosed) where ideas, keywords, bounce off the head, the walls, and discover a cloud that everyone takes something away with, and as it is, it also changes them.

So yes, a forum should not be less than, if not more, a shared design process where not only the designer, but everyone within earshot takes away an idea, or even a lesson, that changes them, in my hope, into a better, wiser, individual.
