Gurmeet Rai

A conservation architect based in New Delhi. In 1996, she set up the Cultural Resource Conservation Initiative (CRCI), a conservation consulting firm to enhance and strengthen creative approach to otherwise routine practices. Gurmeet has been a specialist consultant to several UNESCO workshops in Asia-Pacific. She is the only Indian to have been invited to be on the Jury for the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards every time since 2005 till date. Currently, she is involved in urban conservation with HRIDAY- a program launched by the Ministry of Urban Development. She is appointed as the city anchor for HRIDAY for the two historic cities of Amritsar and Puri. She is also the vice president of ICOMOS India and an expert, voting member on the International Scientific Committee on cultural tourism.
