Gautam Bhan

Part of the School of Human Development at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Bengaluru, Gautam Bhan teaches, researches and writes on the politics of urban poverty and inequality, urban and planning theory, housing identity and social practice. In 2017. he authored 'In the Public's Interest: Evictions Citizenship and Inequality in Contemporary Delhi (Orient Blackswan, University of Georgia Press), as well as co-edited the Routledge Companion to Planning in the Global South (Routledge, 2018) He writes as much publicly as academically and is a frequent columnist in Indian newspapers, blogs and online. He has also been an active part of urban social movements on sexuality as well as housing rights and current advises and trains governmental agencies at local, state and national level on housing policy.
