Rupali Gupte is an architect and an urban designer based in Mumbai. She completed her Bachelors of Architecture from the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture (KRVIA), University of Mumbai and Masters of Architecture from Cornell University, USA. She has been a fellow at the KRVIA and SARAI, Delhi and has worked as a consulting architect for several projects in India and US. She has been an Urban Design Consultant to the Town Administration of Mendefera, Eritrea. She currently teaches at the KRVIA and is a founding member of the urban research collective CRIT. She has researched, written and delivered lectures on urbanism, infrastructure and housing. Some of her works include studies of post-industrial landscapes; studies and developing of mass housing in Mumbai; studies of infrastructure projects; research on tactical practices in cities; development of master-plans; projections / speculating future of cities; and works towards conceptualising the urban realm in India. She has a wide range of publications, and has exhibited her work / delivered lectures in India, US, China, The Netherlands, UK, Italy, Germany, Norway, Taiwan , Turkey and Brazil.
