Vandana Ranjitsinh teaches at the KRVIA Mumbai. She practices at Ranjit Sinh Associates at Horniman Circle, Mumbai with her husband Ranjit Sinh, they have two daughters. A graduate of CEPT Ahmedabad, Vandana trained with Prof Dolf Schnebli in Ticino Switerland and at the NID Ahmedabad; later in Mumbai she worked with Ar. Kamu Iyer of Architects Combine. Vandana lived for over 4 years in Thimphu Bhutan where she practiced as an Associate Architect with Kuenleg Professional Consultants. A lot of her architectural vocabulary was developed during these early travels. Vandana has been teaching at the KRVIA almost since its inception in 1993 and has seen the instituton grow into a fine experimental school. She has been teaching Architectural Design and guiding the Design Dissertation. Her commitment to teaching takes her to various Architecture Schools across the country and abroad as an examiner/assessor. She has been involved with a team developing a more integrated curriculum for the KRVIA. Vandana is involved with the 5th year Bridge Studio and earlier with the III rd year Architectural Design studio where they continue to develop a ‘Syntax and Semantics’ pedagogic process. She is intensely interested in ways of seeing and understanding Architecture and works with a Space / Identity method of ‘walking and sketching’ in the city.
