Osamu Ishiyama

Tokyo, Japan Ishiyama is a Japanese architect and writer. He graduated from Waseda University, Tokyo, in 1966 and established the office DAM DAN in Tokyo in 1968. Through a wide range of activities, of which design was only a part, Ishiyama became a spokesman for the New Wave architects in Japan. His work is characterized by the incorporation of traditional materials and craft techniques, and intuitive on-site improvisation, emphasizing processes above results.
